We have been in Kinshasa for a little over a week now and suffice to say, we aren't in Kansas anymore. It has been quite the adventure so far and a pretty hard culture shock to say the least.
For the next week or so we will be living in temporary housing until our permanent residence is ready. Unfortunately, until we are settled, we will not have internet access at home and our contact (and blog updates) will continue to be somewhat limited. So much has happened since we landed here and the reality of Kinshasa is really starting to set in.
So the good news is we have not been swallowed by a gigantic teethy Congo River fish. The less good news is that we will be incommunicado a bit longer.
Side note: Not having internet or TV at home is absolute torture. I feel like I have been put in a adult time out.

It is hard to believe we are heading out to Kinshasa today! We had such a great summer with everyone and even though we are sad to leave, we are also very excited for this new chapter. We hope you all will come visit or meet up in Europe/Africa and we will post pictures of our trip over once we arrive!
